The full description

**Axle** Technical Product Manager; $140K–$180K + equity; New York (On-site)

**About Company** Axle is a New York-based corporate access platform. Investment banks use Axle to run their corporate access business, including CRM, email, event management with client portals, reporting, and AI-powered features such as email targeting and meeting allocation between public-company executives and investors. Investment banks already run on Axle.

The founders come from Goldman Sachs and Bank of America, and the company is backed by VCs and former senior leaders from JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs and Citadel.

**About the Role** A Technical Product Manager who works alongside Axle's Product Lead as the early technical gut check on scope, and who becomes the first technical product voice in customer implementations for investment banks. The work has two parts: owning implementations (integrations, data mappings, one point of contact for the customer) and, when implementation load is light, working on the core platform, new features, architecture changes and tech initiatives. Partners with Design, QA and Engineering, and reports to the CEO.

**Responsibilities** - Be the technical product voice and single point of contact in customer implementation conversations, owning those relationships and prioritizing the work. - Pressure-test scope up front with the Product Lead so technical complexity surfaces before design and engineering. - Help set the roadmap and own features from definition through launch. - Write technical specs covering dependencies, edge cases, data and integration impacts. - Involve the right teams early so work is ready for development. - Scope integrations and rollouts across APIs, CRM, email, SSO and data migrations. - Turn recurring customer needs into reusable, self-serve capabilities.

**Required Skills** A. 3+ years of product management experience, including shipping features. B. Strong technical background, ideally with APIs, integrations or data-heavy products.

**Bonus Skills** - CS or engineering degree, or engineering experience. - CRM, email or SSO integration experience. - Enterprise implementation or data migration experience. - Financial services background. - Experience with agentic workflows.

**Logistical Info** - Location: New York, NY (Flatiron), in office 5 days a week. Core hours are 9:30am–6:30pm, with flexibility when communicated. - Compensation: $140K–$180K + equity. - **Other:** Unlimited PTO; fully covered medical, dental and vision; lunch and commute stipend; office snacks and drinks.

**Ideal Background** - Axle's product team is currently the Product Lead alone, so this person is a second product seat, not part of a larger team. - Employer pedigree is not a blocker; the client looks for meaningful experience with outsized ownership. - Visa sponsorship leans no, but the client will evaluate it for the right fit. Candidates should ideally be based in New York; there may be flexibility for someone exceptional.

**Green Flags** - Collaborative and focused on the collective mission; asks questions and is curious about context.

**Red Flags** - Changes roles every 6–12 months; stability matters to the client. - Ego: focused mainly on their own impact and what they will work on, rather than the team goal; doesn't ask questions in interviews.

**Interview Process** 1. Intro call with the co-founder and CIO (~30 min). 2. Call with the CEO (~15 min). 3. Behavioral case-study interview. 4. In-person at the Flatiron office (~2.5 hours): work through a problem with the team and meet different people.
