Referral Engagement Terms

Version 1.0 · Effective [EFFECTIVE DATE]

Draft for attorney review. Not yet reviewed by counsel.

These terms describe the deal between you, a candidate, and Vouchward, operated by Elio Gerges, a sole proprietor doing business as Vouchward, Los Angeles County, California. You accept these terms by ticking the engagement consent box on our form. They are short because the deal is simple.

1. You never pay us anything

Our services are free to candidates, permanently. There is no premium tier, no resume review fee, no placement fee, nothing. If anyone ever asks you for money in Vouchward's name, it is fraud; report it to [CONTACT EMAIL]. Because candidates never pay a fee, Vouchward is not a fee charging employment agency under California Civil Code section 1812.501.

2. How we are paid, in full

Vouchward earns money from the hiring side. When a candidate we refer is hired, the hiring company or the marketplace it uses, such as Paraform, pays Vouchward a recruiting fee or bounty. That is our entire business model. You are entitled to know this because it shapes our incentives: we only earn when a referral genuinely works, which is why we refer selectively.

3. What we do

We review the information you give us, hold a screening conversation with you, and where we believe a specific role is a genuine fit, we refer you to it with your consent. Every referral we make carries a written internal rationale. If we do not believe we can vouch for you for a specific role, we do not refer you to it, and we tell you rather than going quiet.

4. What we do not promise

We do not and cannot guarantee an interview, an offer, employment, or any timeline. Hiring decisions belong entirely to hiring companies. We promise honest effort and honest answers, nothing more.

5. Every referral needs your yes

We never submit you anywhere without consent for that specific destination. For referrals through Paraform: after we submit, Paraform emails you a confirmation link, and you have 72 hours to accept. If you do nothing, the referral lapses and no hiring company receives your information.

6. Questions we will never ask

We will not ask for your salary history, consistent with California Labor Code section 432.3. We will not ask about race, ethnicity, national origin, age, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, medical conditions, family status, immigration status, or criminal history. If a hiring company asks us for any of this about you, we decline.

7. Your side of the deal

Give us true information about your identity, work history, work authorization status only in the yes or no form a hiring company lawfully requires, and availability. Tell us if your situation changes, for example if you accept a role elsewhere. Do not ask us to misrepresent anything on your behalf; we will not.

8. Not exclusive, and ends when you say

Working with us does not restrict you at all. Apply anywhere, use other recruiters, accept any offer. Either of us can end this relationship at any time with a plain message, and you can additionally delete your entire record under the Data Deletion and Withdrawal Procedure.

9. Relationship of the parties

Nothing here makes Vouchward your employer, employee, agent, or legal representative, and nothing here creates a partnership. We are an independent recruiting practice making introductions.

10. The documents that travel with these terms

The Candidate Privacy Notice explains data handling. The Data Sharing and Third Party Disclosure Statement lists every recipient of your information. The Data Deletion and Withdrawal Procedure explains how to leave. All are published under /legal on vouchward.ai.

11. Governing law

California law governs these terms. Venue for any dispute is Los Angeles County, California.
