What you would be doing
- Own custom engine integrations end-to-end — from mapping a partner's proprietary rendering pipeline to shipping live capture and maintaining it across patches and engine updates
- Architect and build solutions for every new partner, game, and engine, solving unique technical challenges each time
- Work as the forward-deployed technical point of contact alongside partner engineering teams during integration and troubleshooting
- Improve and harden the core capture SDK and desktop client, building for long-term robustness so partner-specific demands don't force constant changes
- Extend tooling for our modder ecosystem, raising the quality bar on capture technology and internal tools
- Optimize performance across capture, upload, and processing pipelines handling multiple simultaneous data streams

What we're looking for:
We need someone with 4+ years of experience in low-level systems programming and C++ who has hands-on experience integrating with game engines and graphics APIs. You should be comfortable working across proprietary and commercial engines (Unreal, Unity), reverse engineering rendering pipelines, and building high-performance capture systems. Bonus points if you've built plugins, mods, or hacking tools on top of game engines and have experience with multiple graphics interfaces (D3D11, D3D12, OpenGL, Vulkan).

About the team & culture:
Origin Lab sits at the intersection of AI and gaming, partnering with game studios to capture and deliver premium, rights-cleared multimodal data for training frontier AI models. Backed by Lightspeed Ventures and SV Angel, we closed our $6M seed round and are growing rapidly. The team is ~15-20 people with a flat structure — you'll report directly to the CTO/co-founder. We value builders who leverage AI tools to multiply their output, ship fast with daily releases, and are excited to demo what they've built. We encourage public speaking and conference presentations. This is a strong IC role with potential to grow into team leadership as the company scales.
