**Fun.xyz** Senior Product Marketing Manager; $225K–$250K + equity; NYC (Hybrid)
**About the Role** This is Fun's first dedicated marketing hire — a founding product marketing seat translating complex payments and blockchain infrastructure into clear business value. The role blends product marketing fundamentals with broader marketing ownership as the function grows.
**Responsibilities** - Craft differentiated messaging that communicates Fun's product value to enterprise and developer audiences. - Own website messaging across product and customer-facing pages. - Build customer stories and case studies that demonstrate real-world impact. - Create sales collateral, pitch decks, and competitive positioning materials for the GTM team. - Develop social content around product launches and company milestones. - Run customer and market research (interviews, competitive analysis) to sharpen positioning. - Support early-stage initiatives like podcasts and events until dedicated owners exist.
**Required Skills** A. 6+ years in product marketing or a closely related discipline, ideally marketing technically complex or infrastructure products. B. Strong writing skills with a proven track record producing case studies, sales collateral, and website copy. C. Comfortable operating as a hands-on, solo marketing function — no team to delegate to yet. D. Fluent using AI tools for research, drafting, and analysis.
**Bonus Skills** - Crypto, fintech, or payments marketing background. - Consumer financial product marketing experience. - Early-stage startup marketing experience (building the function from scratch). - B2B sales process familiarity.
**Logistical Info** - Location: Midtown NYC HQ; in-person Mon–Thu, optional WFH Friday. - Compensation: $225K–$250K + equity, performance incentives. - **Other:** Equity + performance incentives; comprehensive benefits.
**Ideal Background** - Product marketers from fintech, payments, or crypto-native companies who've owned positioning solo or as a founding hire. - Strong writing samples — look for real case studies/sales decks, not just blog posts. - Client note (Sept 18 call): explicitly does NOT want an overtly "degen"/flashy crypto marketing style — target candidates who are crypto-adjacent but speak to an enterprise/business audience. - Target company note (recruiter-only, Sept 22 call): best bet is local/smaller crypto payments or stablecoin companies, not large well-known crypto brands — client wants someone more buttoned-up than a typical crypto marketer who still understands the space, and who's coming from a small startup environment (they'll be the first marketing hire, building the function from scratch, not stepping into an existing team). - Title note (recruiter-only, Sept 22 call): client renamed this role from "Marketing Lead" to "Senior Product Marketing Manager" on Sept 22 specifically to filter out traditional/generalist marketers after interviewing several who weren't the right fit — JD content itself is unchanged per the client.
**Green Flags** - Has built a marketing function from zero at an early-stage company. - Can point to concrete case studies or sales materials they personally wrote.
**Red Flags** - Overtly "degen"/hype-driven crypto marketing style — explicit client red flag. - No hands-on writing samples; agency/management-only background with no solo execution.
**Interview Process** 1. Recruiter screen with Caroline Kerr. 2. Hiring manager screen. 3. Take-home exercise. 4. Panel review of the take-home (on-site). 5. Cross-functional culture screen (on-site). 6. Founder chat, if the founder is available.
