We are looking for a Senior Commercial Real Estate Litigation Attorney with at least 10 years of experience to independently manage and run sophisticated commercial real estate litigation matters at a growing, forward-thinking boutique firm. This is an opportunity to join a team that values flexibility, leverages cutting-edge AI tools, and handles complex deals regularly across the table from Big Law.
What will you be doing?
- Independently running complex commercial real estate litigation matters from start to finish, including commercial mortgage foreclosures and secured creditor enforcement
- Managing and mentoring junior attorneys — reviewing their work, providing guidance, and ensuring quality on sophisticated deals
- Drafting and preparing pleadings, motions, discovery, and appeals in state and federal court
- Handling court appearances, mediations, and client-facing negotiations
- Conducting diligence related to the purchase and sale of notes and mortgages
Key Requirements
- Ability to fully run sophisticated commercial real estate litigation deals independently from start to finish — this is non-negotiable
- Experience in commercial real estate litigation, with a focus on mortgage foreclosures and creditor enforcement
- Admitted to practice in New York (New Jersey admission is a plus)
- Strong management capability — must be able to guide and oversee junior attorneys on complex transactions
- Excellent legal research, writing, negotiation, and client communication skills
