The full description
We are looking for a Senior Commercial Litigation Associate with 6-8 years of experience to join a leading mid-size California firm and grow into a lead attorney role. You'll handle high-stakes commercial disputes for sophisticated repeat clients — real estate developers and operating businesses - with the autonomy and trial opportunities that BigLaw rarely offers at this level.
What will you be doing?
- Drafting and arguing dispositive motions (MSJs, demurrers, anti-SLAPP) and discovery motions in California state and federal court
- Managing complex discovery end-to-end: propounding/responding to written discovery, taking and defending depositions
- Handling court appearances and hearings, working toward first-chair trial opportunities
- Owning discrete matters with increasing autonomy — the path is lead attorney within 2-3 years
- Building client relationships with origination credit available for any business you bring in
Key Requirements
- 6-8 years of commercial litigation experience at a reputable firm (mid-size or larger)
- Active California State Bar license (non-negotiable)
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school
- Significant experience drafting a wide variety of motions and handling related hearings
- Strong desire to develop trial skills and ultimately handle cases as lead attorney
