The full description

We are looking for a Robotics Planning Engineer with 2+ years of experience to develop the high-level autonomy systems that coordinate fleets of autonomous haul trucks in mining environments. You'll join a fast-growing team at Pronto (now part of Atoms), where your work on path planning, multi-vehicle coordination, and dispatch systems will directly impact production-deployed autonomous haulage operations across multiple countries. This is a rare opportunity to be one of the first planning engineers on the team, with the ability to touch motion planning, coordination planning, and fleet planning — building something no one else in the industry is doing. The market is massive, the technology is ahead of competitors like Caterpillar and Komatsu, and with $1.7B recently raised, the business is scaling rapidly.

What will you be doing?

- Developing all path planning and trajectory systems for autonomous haul trucks, ensuring trucks don't stop unnecessarily when encountering unmapped obstacles or objects

- Designing intersection management systems that compute optimal truck sequences to minimize total wait time across the site

- Building motion planning, coordination planning, and fleet planning concepts — translating site-wide state (loading/dumping locations) into dynamic assignments for each truck

- Implementing multi-agent coordination systems that prevent deadlocks and collisions while maximizing throughput for 200+ ton vehicles

- Collaborating closely with controls and systems engineers to validate planning algorithms in simulation and on real vehicles during deployments
