The full description

Rippling gives businesses one place to run HR, IT, and Finance. It brings together all of the

workforce systems that are normally scattered across a company—like payroll, expenses,

benefits, and computers—so that for the first time, companies can manage and automate every

part of the employee lifecycle in a single system.

As a Product Design Lead, you will take ownership of a critical product vertical, driving it from

0-1 concept to shipped reality. You will be responsible for transforming deep administrative

complexity into elegant, simple workflows that feel effortless for employees while providing total

control for admins. You won’t just move pixels; you will define long-term strategy, partner with

world-class engineers and PMs, and set the bar for craft and systems thinking across the entire

Rippling ecosystem.

What You Will Do

- Strategy & Vision: Collaborate with cross-functional leadership to define the long-term roadmap and short-term tactics for your product area.

- End-to-End Design: Lead the design of complex, high-impact products from initial research and wireframing to high-fidelity prototyping and QA.

- Systems Thinking: Develop scalable design frameworks and primitives that maintain coherence across Rippling’s unified platform.

- Research & Insight: Partner with UX Research to deeply understand user pain points and translate those findings into intuitive product decisions.

- Craft Leadership: Participate in design reviews, mentor other designers, and champion a "consumer-grade" quality bar for enterprise software.

What You Will Need

- Experience: 8+ years of professional product design experience, with a track record of shipping complex products in demanding domains (e.g., Fintech, SaaS, Enterprise).

- Complexity Management: A proven ability to simplify messy, ambiguous problems into intuitive, build-ready specifications.

- Technical Fluency: A deep understanding of technical constraints and the ability to work closely with engineering to ensure high-quality implementation.

- Execution: A self-starter mentality with a bias toward action and the ability to thrive in a high-velocity, fast-paced environment.

- Communication: Exceptional storytelling and communication skills to drive alignment across stakeholders.

We are currently hiring Design Leads across several key pillars of the Rippling platform:

1. Finance (Spend Management)

Focus: Managing how money moves through modern companies.

The Mission: Design a unified Spend platform that integrates corporate cards, bill pay, expenses, and travel. You will create a "one-connected-experience" that links natively to HR and Payroll data, allowing for automatic policy enforcement and instant reconciliation that scales from tiny startups to 10,000-person enterprises.

2. Platform

Focus: The connective tissue of the Rippling ecosystem.

The Mission: Design the underlying systems and primitives—permissions models, data visualizations, and shared surfaces like the Home screen—that make the product feel coherent. You will solve for "cross-cutting" challenges, ensuring that disparate products feel like one unified system through scalable, extensible frameworks.

There is other additional headcount ad-hoc in other teams, candidates are often screened at a general Rippling level and then funneled into right areas based on preference + need.
