We are looking for a Principal Analog/Mixed Signal Engineer with 6+ years of experience to lead the design of next-generation thermodynamic computing chips. Extropic is building a fundamentally new compute paradigm that leverages thermal noise in CMOS to perform probabilistic sampling — with potential 10,000x power savings over traditional approaches. You'll join a ~30-person team that just taped out their third chip (Z1) and is now defining the architecture for three upcoming chips. This is a ground-floor opportunity to own major pieces of chip design at a company poised to reshape AI acceleration and edge computing.

What will you be doing?

- Leading the design of analog and mixed-signal blocks (ADCs, PLLs, bandgaps, regulators, high-speed serializers/deserializers, oscillators, and dividers) for upcoming chip tape-outs

- Owning large chunks of chip architecture and potentially serving as design lead for one of three planned chips

- Performing hands-on layout work as well as design verification (DRC, ERC, LVS) in a startup environment where everyone gets their hands dirty

- Collaborating across IC, systems, physics, and algorithms teams to translate probabilistic computing concepts into silicon implementations

- Contributing to lab testing and validation of fabricated chips using signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes
