The full description
We are looking for a Mass Tort/Toxic Tort Associate Attorney with 2+ years of experience to join Lydecker's California practice group and handle asbestos defense litigation. This is a high-priority hire for a growing team where you'll manage your own caseload end-to-end rather than being siloed into narrow tasks — with a clear path to promotion.
What will you be doing?
- Managing a full caseload of mass tort/toxic tort (asbestos) defense matters from inception through resolution
- Drafting and responding to motions, complaints, and written discovery
- Taking and defending depositions in asbestos litigation
- Attending hearings, mediations, and potentially trial
- Communicating directly with clients and managing case strategy independently
Key Requirements
- Active California bar license in good standing
- 2+ years of civil defense litigation experience, specifically in mass tort/toxic tort (asbestos experience required)
- Experience on the defense side — plaintiff-side attorneys will not be considered
- Trial experience is a huge plus and considered high priority
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage a full caseload independently
