M&A/PE Associate (St. Louis, MO or Chicago, IL)

We are looking for a mid-level M&A/PE Associate with 4-8 years of experience to join Armstrong Teasdale's Corporate Services Group. This is a backfill for a high-impact role where you'll spend ~60-70% of your time running deals and the remainder on general corporate work — all while getting direct client exposure early and often at a firm that's collaborative, not cutthroat.

What will you be doing?

- Running M&A deals end-to-end, from due diligence through closing

- Drafting and negotiating transactional documents (purchase agreements, merger agreements, financing documents)

- Handling general corporate matters including entity formations, corporate structuring, and ongoing client advisory

- Working closely with partners in a lean team structure, gaining significant client-facing responsibility

- Supporting private equity sponsors and portfolio companies throughout their investment lifecycle

Key Requirements

- 4-8 years of M&A/PE transactional experience (must be able to run a deal independently)

- Law firm experience required (understanding of billing, managing multiple client relationships)

- Licensed to practice law in Missouri or Illinois

- Based in St. Louis or Chicago

- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
