Lead Data Platform Engineer

What we're looking for:

We need someone with 7+ years of experience owning production data platforms end-to-end who can build foundational infrastructure from the ground up on a lean team. You should be comfortable operating as a senior strategic IC — reporting directly to the CEO, interfacing with non-technical stakeholders, and shipping production code without waiting for requirements to be handed to you. Bonus points if you have experience in proptech, vertical SaaS, fintech, or healthcare data environments with messy integrations and consequential data.

What you'll do:

- Own the production reliability and evolution of Lightswitch's core data and Operating Intelligence platform — canonical data models, identity resolution, metric governance, and transformation pipelines

- Build a repeatable source-to-trusted-metric framework for onboarding new property management systems and acquisitions

- Design and maintain shared APIs, permissions, testing, evaluation, and deployment guardrails that enable Forward Deployed Engineers to ship independently without fragmenting the architecture

- Integrate messy source systems (legacy PMS platforms, payment systems, HR systems) with high reliability and auditability

- Advance operating intelligence by building common issue, diagnosis, action, and outcome primitives that move the platform from reporting to closed-loop execution

- Work directly with the founders and operating leaders to translate business needs into platform capabilities — this is a deeply hands-on, strategic IC role with no team to manage
