The full description
We are looking for a Founding iOS Engineer with 3-5+ years of experience to own and build Sekai's native iOS app from the ground up. You'll be responsible for transitioning the app from Flutter to native iOS as the sole iOS engineer, working at a company that's already hit 5M+ MAUs and is backed by a16z, Khosla, and Mayfield. We want someone who has shipped consumer iOS apps at scale (think Snapchat, Instagram-caliber), is deeply AI-native in their development workflow, and thrives with massive ownership in a fast-moving startup. Mandarin fluency is required.
What will you be doing?
- Own the entire iOS app: building the native iOS version as Sekai transitions away from Flutter
- Ship consumer-facing features with strong attention to speed, polish, and reliability for a feed-based interactive content platform
- Leverage AI coding tools (Claude, Cursor, Copilot) extensively to deliver code at startup speed as the sole iOS engineer
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Backend, and the existing mobile engineer to move from idea to shipped product quickly
- Bring modern iOS best practices and Apple platform knowledge to define the mobile development workflow
