The full description

**Statecraft** Head of PsyOps; $80K-$100K base; DMV or NYC (Remote)

**About Company** Statecraft sells AI workers to the US government. Government runs largely on consultants and contractors; Statecraft's AI workers do the same work, trained and evaluated on the same tasks, at a fraction of the cost.

Backed by a $6M seed from defense and government investors. The team is repeat, exited founders and operators from Palantir, Google, AWS, and the Department of State. Fully AI-native: they build everything internally and use their own product.

**About the Role** The title is deliberate: this is not traditional marketing. No brand book, no funnel diagram, no manager-approved content. This is a hands-on, execution-first role for someone more junior who lives on the internet, understands why things spread, and can build influence campaigns to match. You own how agency leaders, the press, and the wider market see Statecraft, online and in the rooms where decisions get made. Solo and hands-on, owning execution end-to-end and moving in minutes and hours, with agents and budget to automate clipping, drafting, scheduling, and reporting so your time goes to judgment.

**Responsibilities** - Run Statecraft's social accounts, X first, with daring posts. - Turn launches, contract wins, and product releases into campaigns that reach both the industry and Washington. - Organize events for decision-makers and the industry: DC dinners, launches, conference side events. - Coordinate with PR so press, social, and events run as one campaign. - Build and run an in-house network of creators to distribute launches. - Produce short-form video and visuals yourself, fast, without a production team. - Get founders and engineers on camera and on podcasts, and prep them for it. - Position Statecraft against incumbents in public with evidence; run OOH/in-person campaigns in DC (billboards included).

**Required Skills** A. US citizen, eligible to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. B. A track record you can show - accounts you grew, posts that spread, events you filled (personal accounts count). C. Writes, edits, and designs well enough to ship without waiting on anyone. D. Taste - can tell good content from bad, iconic from slop. E. Comfort owning hands-on execution as the only person doing this in the building.

**Bonus Skills** - Already uses AI tools daily and has automated parts of your own workflow. - Follows politics, defense tech, or government technology closely and knows who matters. - Experience on a political campaign, with a creator, or at a startup known for its brand. - Has run in-person events and filled them. - Located in the DMV or NYC.

**Logistical Info** - Location: Primarily remote, but must be based in the DMV or NYC (strong preference for DMV) or willing to relocate; travel for events. US citizen able to obtain and maintain a security clearance. - Compensation: $80K-$100K base. - **Other:** Medical/dental/vision/life + 401(k) match, unlimited PTO (~2 weeks/yr minimum), home-office and coworking stipends, L&D budget, team offsites, max-tier AI subscriptions.

**Ideal Background** - Chronically-online social/content operator with real receipts: accounts grown, posts that spread, events filled (personal accounts count). - Junior / early-career, execution-first; ships fast solo and builds in public. - Aspirational reference profiles: Khushi Suri, Sarah Hess, and similar. These profiles are hard to reach; if out of range, the fallback is a Gen Z, chronically-online creator/operator. The client is a fan of whoever Squad recently placed with Macro. - No guardrails on the search; the recurring miss has been candidates who aren't daring enough. - Bonus: political-campaign, creator, or brand-led-startup background; plugged into politics, defense-tech, or gov-tech.

**Green Flags** - Genuinely daring: posts bold, provocative takes; the bar is more daring, not less. - Taste, plus a portfolio of accounts, posts, or events that actually landed. - Eager, high-agency, AI-native; can get the right people in a room.

**Red Flags** - Corporate or agency marketer who needs a brand book, approvals, or a team (explicit no). - Not daring enough: safe, corporate-voice content (the recurring miss to avoid). - Strategy-only: no hands-on output, no real audience or receipts.

**Interview Process** 1. First round with Ruben and Alan. 2. Second round with Ruben, Alex (CEO), and Priansh (CTO).
