Skills that matter here
What you would be doing
- Own signup growth across core acquisition channels, accountable to the number and the strategy behind it
- Build a defensible signup mix across SEO/GEO, partnerships, brand, and other durable channels that compound over time
- Run cross-channel planning, prioritization, and execution, including managing channel owners across content, PMM, partnerships, brand, and distribution
- Inherit an existing team and hire into it as we scale
- Run weekly performance reviews: diagnose misses, identify what's working, and ship corrective action plans fast
- Audit and hold accountable any paid or agency spend, know when a channel or vendor is worth it and when to cut it
- Partner with product and engineering on activation, onboarding, and growth constraints that live outside marketing's direct control
What they are looking for
- Open-source growth experience (required). You've run growth at a company whose product was open source, not just developer-facing or API-first. You understand how open-source adoption, community, and commercial growth feed each other.
- You've owned a growth number, not advised on one. You know the difference between a channel that's underperforming and one that needs to be killed, and you've made that call and can explain the reasoning.
- You can show the wins and the misses. An experiment that worked and one that didn't, both with real numbers and what you changed as a result.
- Experienced running growth for a technical or developer-facing product. You understand how developers discover tools, evaluate them, and decide to use them. You've built growth for an audience that hates being marketed to.
- Strong management instincts. You can run a team of channel specialists, create cadence, drive accountability, and keep everyone moving in the same direction without needing perfect information to do it.
- Fluent in modern distribution. SEO/GEO, content, product launches, AI-native discovery, with real operational depth across multiple channels, not just talking points.
- Good messaging taste. You know what good looks like and can hold a high bar across everything that ships without becoming the bottleneck. We'll want a writing sample early.
- Ran growth without daily founder input. You set direction and move without waiting to be told.

Head of Growth Marketing Role
You'll own how Firecrawl acquires and activates users across content, SEO/GEO, product marketing, partnerships, social, and emerging agent-first distribution channels. This is a technical, operator-first leadership role. You'll set the channel strategy and run the system that executes it: pacing, channel mix, performance diagnosis, prioritization, and a team you'll both inherit and hire into. You'll work closely with Eric on the major bets and own turning strategy into durable, compounding growth.
About Firecrawl
Firecrawl is the easiest way to turn the web into data AI agents can use. One API call converts any URL into clean, LLM-ready markdown or structured data, the boring-hard problem everyone building with LLMs eventually hits, solved.
We hit 8 figures in ARR in year one and more than doubled it in year two. We have 175k+ GitHub stars, and developers, agents, and category-defining AI companies build on us every day. Growth like this is rare, and we're just getting started.
We're a small team punching far above our weight. Everyone here owns a real piece of the product and company, end to end, and runs it themselves, no hiding behind process or headcount.
This is a place for people who want to work at the frontier: an AI company building the infrastructure other AI companies run on, not one bolting AI onto an existing product. We move fast, go deep, and are building the tools superintelligence will rely on to gather data from the web.

Backgrounds that often do well: head of growth or marketing at an open-source developer tools or API-first company, early marketing leader at a PLG SaaS startup, founder-marketer who built a growth engine from scratch.
What We're NOT Looking For
- Growth or marketing leaders who are great at strategy decks and weak on execution
- People who need a fully-staffed team under them before they can move the needle
- Anyone who mistakes activity, campaigns launched, emails sent, content published, for growth
A Note On Pace
We're a small team doing a lot. Roles here are loosely defined on purpose, you'll own things that don't have a clear owner yet, and that's a feature, not a bug. If you need your scope fully defined before you can move, this probably isn't the right fit. If you want to build something that matters inside one of the fastest-growing AI infrastructure companies in the world, let's talk.

There is no apply button here on purpose. Tell us about yourself, we book a short call, and if this role fits we walk you through the company and ask before anything is sent. Always free for you.
