The full description

**Kingdom** GTM Senior Manager; $120K–$170K base + equity (no commission); Brooklyn, NY (On-site)

**About Company** Kingdom is building an AI-native functional ingredients company. They've pioneered Superculture® ingredients — an entirely new class of clinically validated postbiotics, made from natural microbes, that target the root causes of unmet health needs in pets and people. They've found strong product-market fit in pet health: Superculture® Pet Oral and Pet Immune are already in market, powering dozens of products from leading pet brands less than a year after launch (nine in ten first-time customers come back to launch additional products). Demand is growing faster than the GTM team can serve it, even as Kingdom enters new international markets and prepares to commercialize its first human ingredient.

Their edge is a proprietary platform: one of the world's largest, most diverse biobanks (~25,000 microbial strains isolated from fermented foods and natural sources), deeply characterized in their 9,000 sq ft Brooklyn Navy Yard lab, paired with computational biology and ML. Traditional ingredient development takes 5+ years and tens of millions of dollars; Kingdom launches one clinically validated ingredient per year, with AI accelerating every step from microbe screening to clinical validation, manufacturing, and partner support.

Founded in 2019 out of Y Combinator (S20) by Columbia-trained co-founders — CEO Kendall and Chief Science Officer Ravi (PhD, microbiome). ~$40M raised from top investors (Series A led by Shine Capital, alongside Lux, Sequoia, and others). Team of ~18, two-thirds scientists including 6–7 PhDs from leading institutions.

**About the Role** This is a front-line, full-cycle SALES role — a deliberate bet on raw talent over sales pedigree. Kingdom wants a high-horsepower generalist (think MBB consultant or top-tier banker) who is genuinely excited to learn selling as a craft, at a high bar. This is explicitly NOT a role for people who already sell for a living: no career salespeople, and no SDRs/BDRs from other tech companies.

This person owns a book of US pet accounts end to end — first conversation → discovery → samples → clearing blockers → first purchase order → product launch → account growth — earning trust across R&D, innovation, procurement, and executive stakeholders and turning complex science into compelling business opportunities. They'll help codify the GTM playbook future teams will use. Structured support is real: monthly two-way feedback, twice-yearly growth sessions, and direct access to an experienced sales coach who reviews calls, emails, and live deals. You'll learn alongside former consultants, bankers, operators, and scientists who pair a high bar for thinking with genuine kindness. High autonomy, high ownership; success is measured by revenue closed, and the role is designed to expand as Kingdom grows.

**Responsibilities** - Own a book of US pet accounts end to end — carry active deals and qualified inbound through first PO and product launch, taking on more outbound prospecting as you ramp. - Run research, build customized pitch materials, lead customer discovery, coordinate ingredient samples, and push customers on timelines, volumes, and internal blockers in a way that strengthens the relationship. - Earn trust across R&D, innovation, procurement, and executive stakeholders, translating complex science into commercial opportunities. - Track deal stages, next steps, and risks in the CRM (Attio); keep response times tight across the cycle. - Grow accounts post-launch — reformulations, additional SKUs, and second-ingredient products across a customer's portfolio. - Help shape and codify the GTM playbook, and represent Kingdom at conferences and customer sites (~1–3 trips per quarter).

**Required Skills** A. 3–6 years of full-time work experience (target graduation years ~2020–2023), including 1+ year at MBB (McKinsey, Bain, BCG) OR at a top-tier bank / PE fund. B. Genuinely excited to learn full-cycle selling and treat sales as a craft to master at a high bar — the core motivation Kingdom is screening for. No prior sales background (by design). C. Exceptional written and verbal communication with high EQ; builds trust across multiple stakeholders (R&D, procurement, executives) and pushes for what's needed without straining the relationship. D. Resourcefulness and resilience — finds another way in when a deal stalls; high agency and a "do what it takes" attitude; strong organizational rigor (nothing drops); highly coachable. E. B.S. from a top university with a strong GPA (strongly preferred); learns hard/technical material quickly; comfortable using AI tooling for research/drafting/meeting prep. F. Currently based in the NYC metro and able to work in person Monday–Thursday at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. G. No visa sponsorship required — TN status is acceptable.

**Bonus Skills** - Demonstrated interest in health/wellness and/or pets. - Founder / founding-team experience, or another role where you carried commercial outcomes without a formal sales title. - Exposure to CPG, ingredients, or another physical-product category.

**Logistical Info** - Location: Must currently live in the NYC metro. In-person 4 days/week (Mon–Thu; Friday is flex/WFH) at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, plus ~1–3 conference/customer trips per quarter. - Compensation: $120K–$170K base (Manager / Senior Manager level; $170K is the hard cash ceiling and maps to ~6 years of experience). No individual commission — the sales model is deliberately team-based; upside comes via annual performance-based salary increases and equity re-ups. Equity included. - Work authorization: No sponsorship available; TN status is acceptable. - Number of openings: 1. - Hiring timeline (as of late Aug 2026): moving fast — final-round interviews targeted the week of Sept 7, offer extended by Sept 10, target start Sept 28 (no later than Oct 12). - Development & benefits: monthly two-way feedback, twice-yearly growth sessions, and a dedicated sales coach who reviews calls/emails/live deals. 100% covered medical/vision/dental (95% for family); One Medical, Teladoc & Talkspace; flexible PTO + 13 holidays (incl. week-long winter closure); 12 weeks paid parental leave (extendable to 24); 401k, FSA, commuter benefit; stocked kitchen + weekly team lunches.

**Ideal Background** - Strongest signal — 2+ years at MBB (McKinsey, Bain, BCG) or a top-tier bank / PE fund (Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, Citi, JP Morgan, Credit Suisse). - Currently lives in the NYC-metro area. - Does NOT have a sales background — this is by design; Kingdom is teaching selling. - Bachelor of Science from a top university with a strong GPA. - Demonstrated interest in health/wellness and/or pets. - Calibration anchors (per the hiring manager): the profile Adrian (VP of GTM) had ~4 years ago, or Laura Sophia on the team ~2 years ago — sharp generalists early in turning consulting/finance horsepower into commercial craft.

**Green Flags** - High-caliber consulting/banking/PE generalist genuinely hungry to learn selling as a craft (not just "open to" it). - Builds trust fast, high EQ, reads the room, comfortable asking uncomfortable questions. - Resilient, high agency, coachable; nothing drops. - Strong academic signal (top school, high GPA); learns hard material fast; curious about AI tooling. - Demonstrated interest in health/wellness, the microbiome, or pets.

**Red Flags** - HARD ANTI-PROFILE: SDRs or BDRs from other tech companies, or experienced/career salespeople — not a fit. - Not currently NYC-based, or unable to be in office Monday–Thursday. - Requires visa sponsorship (TN status is fine). - Needs an established playbook or struggles in an ambiguous, still-being-written motion; poor follow-through; defensive to feedback.

**Interview Process** Fast — targeting final rounds the week of Sept 7 and an offer by Sept 10. 1. (Optional) 30-min hiring screen — may be skipped if Squad has already screened. 2. First round — 60-min behavioral with Adrian (VP of GTM/Growth), across problem-solving, communication/trust-building, and hunger to learn selling. 3. Second round — 60-min behavioral with CEO Kendall (co-founder). 4. Final — half-day on-site at the Brooklyn Navy Yard: three 60-min interviews (two behavioral incl. values — solve from first principles, collaborate with kindness, be resourceful and resilient; one live problem-solving scenario), plus team lunch and coffee chats.
