The full description

**ScribeUp** Growth Lead; $140K–$180K + 15%–25% bonus + 0.15%–0.4% equity; United States (Remote)

**About Company** ScribeUp is a Series A embedded fintech building AI-powered bill-management infrastructure for financial institutions. Its product lives inside banking apps as a modern "bills tab". Recurring bills (rent, utilities, loans, insurance, subscriptions) are automatically detected and tracked, users get alerts before bills are due, and they can take one-click action natively in their bank's app: cancel, update the payment method, or save money on a bill. When ScribeUp goes live at a financial institution, around 60% of end users immediately find a bill they didn't realize they were paying.

The platform rests on two core technical competencies. The first is intelligence built on full banking context, which over-the-top apps can't match. The second is agentic execution that can act on essentially any biller. ScribeUp has signed 60+ financial institutions in about 18 months, from neobanks and fintechs such as DailyPay and NerdWallet to banks and credit unions across the US. It is pre-integrated with the leading digital-banking providers (Q2, Alkami, Jack Henry/Banno, Lumin, Candescent) and recently raised a $10M Series A to scale Product, Engineering and Go-to-Market.

The team is high-caliber, low-ego and flat, with minimal micromanagement: talented people get outsized responsibility and clear ownership lanes. ScribeUp starts remote, with hybrid (~3 days/week in office) preferred but not required and a New York office planned depending on roles landing there in broader Q1 2027 hiring, and runs regular on-sites and virtual team events.

**About the Role** The Growth Lead owns ScribeUp's top of funnel: everything from a financial-institution buyer first hearing about ScribeUp to that buyer becoming a qualified lead for Sales. The role works directly with the Chief Commercial Officer and builds the demand-generation engine from the ground up, with no inherited team, mature playbook or preset channel mix. Today the "team" is mostly outside agencies (a PR agency and an outbound calling agency) that the Growth Lead manages. The role is designed as a step up into a lead position: as ScribeUp adds headcount, this person builds and runs the Growth function. Growth owns creating qualified demand, and Sales owns closing it.

**Responsibilities** - Build and prioritize the target-account universe and segmentation across banks, credit unions and fintechs. - Build outbound strategy, sequencing and FI-specific messaging across email, LinkedIn, calling and other channels. - Manage and hold accountable ScribeUp's outside partners (PR agency, outbound calling agency, other demand-gen resources), and decide what should eventually move in-house. - Own the events and conference strategy: account targeting before each event, onsite plans, and follow-up afterwards, measured on qualified pipeline rather than attendance. - Run paid and brand-awareness programs where they support demand creation. - Define the SQL with Sales, build funnel reporting on pipeline by source and channel, and recommend where to invest more and where to stop. - Build the playbooks and processes future growth hires (BDRs, marketing) will use.

**Required Skills** A. Meaningful B2B demand-generation or growth experience in an enterprise go-to-market motion. B. Has personally built pipeline, not just managed people who did. C. Hands-on experience with several of: outbound, ABM, events, paid programs, list building, agency management, campaign strategy. D. Has worked directly with a sales organization and owned funnel metrics.

**Bonus Skills** - Demand generation in banktech, or at a fintech selling into banks and credit unions. - Direct credit-union or regional-bank experience; exposure to the digital-banking ecosystem. - Financial-services conference and event strategy. - Built a Growth or Demand Generation function from zero to one. - Hired or managed BDR or marketing resources. - Early-stage startup experience.

**Logistical Info** - Location: US-based, full-time. Starts remote; hybrid (~3 days/week in office) is preferred but not required, with a New York office planned depending on roles landing there in broader Q1 2027 hiring. - Compensation: $140K–$180K base + 15%–25% bonus tied to qualified pipeline/SQL targets + 0.15%–0.4% equity. - **Other:** Works directly with the Chief Commercial Officer.

**Ideal Background** - 🔴 Please don't outreach on our behalf to Pinwheel (most important), Alkami, Candescent, Banno (part of Jack Henry), Q2, StrategyCorps, or DailyPay (a ScribeUp client, conflict of interest). - Of the three GTM roles, this one is the most flexible on industry. Ranked by fit: - Best: demand gen at a banktech company, or at a fintech whose buyers are banks and credit unions. - Good: demand gen at a fintech selling to banks or FIs rather than to consumers or small businesses. - Middle fit, still worth submitting if strong: an enterprise demand-gen marketer from another enterprise market. Enterprise marketing experience transfers. - Key calibration point: what matters is the market they sold into, not whether the product was "fintech" or "financial services". A fintech selling to SMBs is not relevant. - Profile: hungry, high intellectual caliber, ready to step up into a lead role and grow a team. - In interviews, strong candidates can explain how marketing strategy changes for a bank/FI buyer compared with high-volume or consumer markets.

**Green Flags** - Can point to specific pipeline they personally created, broken down by channel. - Has held agencies accountable to pipeline outcomes. - Resonates with the mission and wants to build a high-growth company.

**Red Flags** - 🔴 Please don't outreach on our behalf to Pinwheel (most important), Alkami, Candescent, Banno (part of Jack Henry), Q2, StrategyCorps, or DailyPay (a ScribeUp client, conflict of interest). - Currently works at a credit union (e.g. Navy Federal, PenFed, BECU, Alliant, or any local credit union) — ScribeUp's prospective clients; do not contact. - Currently works at a bank (e.g. Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Capital One, or any regional or community bank) — ScribeUp's prospective clients; do not contact. - Currently works at a consumer-facing fintech (e.g. Chime, SoFi, Cash App, Venmo, or similar apps people use to bank, pay, or save) — ScribeUp's prospective clients; do not contact. If unsure whether a company counts, ask before reaching out. - High-volume SMB "spray-and-pray" outbound backgrounds (e.g. Rippling, Brex or Ramp-style SMB motions). Not a fit, even from high-caliber companies. - Consumer marketers (B2C growth) with no enterprise demand-gen experience. - Traditional marketing managers who only ran an inherited team and playbook, or brand-only backgrounds with no ownership of qualified pipeline.
