Founding Talent Lead

We are looking for a Founding Talent Lead with 4+ years of experience to own recruiting end-to-end at a well-funded, fast-growing B2B SaaS startup. You'll be the first dedicated talent hire, building pipelines for technical and non-technical roles while delivering a candidate experience that reflects Lapel's hospitality-first culture.

What will you be doing?

- Sourcing and building candidate pipelines from scratch — primarily for engineering roles right now, expanding to go-to-market and other functions

- Managing the full candidate lifecycle: outreach, screening, interview coordination, and closing

- Delivering a high-touch, hospitality-grade candidate experience at every stage of the process

- Partnering directly with founders to define role requirements and calibrate on what "great" looks like

- Handling light people ops tasks (offer letters, process improvements) as the function grows

Key Requirements

- 4+ years of recruiting experience with a focus on technical/engineering roles at B2B SaaS startups

- Startup background — must have recruited without relying on a big brand name or heavy inbound flow

- Strong proactive sourcing skills for passive candidates; comfortable building top-of-funnel from zero

- Must work on-site 5 days/week in San Francisco (no exceptions)

- US citizen or Green Card holder — no visa sponsorship available
