The full description

**Thoughtly** Founding Product Manager; $150K–$200K base + equity; New York (Hybrid)

**About Company** Thoughtly builds an AI-native platform for revenue teams that automatically calls, texts, and books meetings with leads — engaging, following up, and converting them without a human in the loop, and logging everything back to the CRM. The long-term vision is to be the single system a company sends every lead to, with Thoughtly deciding intelligently when and how to engage them.

Customers include 2U, Siemens, and Nomad, with reported close-rate improvements from 16% to 38%. Thoughtly has raised $8.6M across two rounds — a $3M seed and a $5.5M round announced in April 2026 — backed by Armory Square Ventures, Greycroft, Afor, and MVP.

The team is lean and fast-moving: about 15 people in total, roughly three years since founding, with a small product/engineering org (3 engineers, 1 designer) reporting to co-founder/CTO/Head of Product Alex Casella, alongside co-founder Tori.

**About the Role** This is Thoughtly's first dedicated Product Manager hire. The company is shipping a new product this quarter and moving aggressively into go-to-market right after, so this person owns the launch — not maintenance. They'll set product vision from direct customer evidence, drive positioning as the company expands into new use cases, and act as the connective tissue between engineering, sales, marketing, and leadership in a company where the PM will realistically talk to everyone.

**Responsibilities** - Own the product roadmap and vision, translating direct customer conversations and evidence into concrete priorities. - Act as the connective tissue between engineering, sales, marketing, and leadership across a lean, ~15-person team. - Drive product marketing and positioning for new releases as the company expands into new use cases. - Take products from spec through development partnership, testing, launch, and measurement, end to end. - Establish quality standards for the platform's automated, multi-channel conversations. - Own success metrics such as conversation completion rate and expansion revenue. - Lead the upcoming product launch and the go-to-market ramp that follows.

**Required Skills** A. 5+ years of hands-on product management experience (non-negotiable — tenure inflated by title/leveling doesn't count; must be genuine PM experience). B. Has taken a product from 0 to 1 at a startup (non-negotiable — candidates without direct startup experience will not be considered). C. Strong written and verbal communication, with a track record of running direct customer conversations and translating them into product decisions. D. Actively uses AI tools to materially speed up their own work, and can demonstrate it — not just casual daily use.

**Bonus Skills** - Experience at both a startup and a larger, more established company. - Voice AI or conversational AI domain expertise. - Strong product marketing and positioning experience.

**Logistical Info** - Location: New York; hybrid, 3 days/week in the Chelsea office (some flexibility case by case, but 3 days is the expectation). - Compensation: $150K–$200K base + equity. - Number of openings: 1 - Can't do Visa sponsorships

**Ideal Background** - Ideally combines startup 0-to-1 experience with time at a larger, more mature company or bigger corporate — candidates with only early-career, single-startup paths (e.g., joined at seed, still there at Series A, no bigger-company exposure) have not converted well for this role historically. - Illustrative green-flag pedigree the founder cited: Meta/Google-caliber companies (an example, not a literal must-have). - Comp note: band is $150K–$200K base; founder is aware top-tier 5+ YOE candidates are trending $230K–$240K in the market and is open to revisiting the ceiling if it isn't landing top candidates. - Hiring manager note: Alex Casella (co-founder/CTO) just took over as hiring manager from a previous hire who was let go, and is currently overwhelmed reviewing candidates across 4 channels (Squad + 2 other agencies + Paraform). He has asked for a low volume of only the highest-quality candidates — no borderline submissions.

**Green Flags** - Collaborative, humble, brings positive energy, and communicates clearly — including spotting and closing communication gaps in others. This is the founder's stated #1 filter, ahead of hard skills. - Strong, well-reasoned opinions they can defend with conviction. - Demonstrable AI-driven productivity, not just "uses AI daily." - Voice AI or conversational AI background.

**Red Flags** - Under 5 years of genuine hands-on PM experience, even with a senior-sounding title. - No prior startup experience. - Pattern of short job stints (3–8 months) in recent history. - Currently running their own company or side project (non-VC-backed) — reads as split focus unless they can confirm it's fully wound down. - Comp expectations meaningfully above $200K base. - Needs Visa sponsorship

**Interview Process** 1. Screening call with Alex Casella (co-founder/CTO/Head of Product) — background, motivation, and values fit. 2. Take-home assignment. 3. Virtual review meeting with co-founder Tori to discuss the take-home. 4. On-site, half-day, with the team in New York.
