Founding Engineer

We are looking for a Founding Engineer with 2-8 years of experience to join a small, talent-dense team building AI-native systems that are transforming how small businesses access quality health insurance. You'll own problems end-to-end — from data model to user experience — on agentic systems where being wrong has real consequences for real people.

What will you be doing?

- Building and iterating on agentic AI systems that automate broker analyses and operational workflows for internal service operators

- Owning full-stack product development end-to-end across Python and TypeScript

- Working closely with internal stakeholders (brokers and service operators) to ship tools that let them serve 10x more clients at higher quality

- Designing evals, guardrails, and reliability infrastructure for high-stakes AI agents

- Defining the engineering culture and architecture as part of a founding engineering team scaling from 4 to 8

Key Requirements

- Full-stack or backend-focused engineer — no pure frontend candidates

- Strong proficiency in Python and TypeScript

- At least one indicator of pedigree: name-brand company (big tech, high-growth startup, or trading) or top-tier university

- Experience or strong curiosity in AI engineering (agents, evals, LLMs, fine-tuning)

- Demonstrated end-to-end ownership — shipped products from ideation to production, not just features
