Founding Electrical Engineer

We are looking for a Founding Electrical Engineer with 4-10 years of experience to join Colare and define how the world's leading space & defense, manufacturing, and robotics companies evaluate their next generation of electrical engineers. You'll bring deep hands-on EE expertise — ideally from a space & defense environment — and use it to design realistic, scenario-based assessments that capture real engineering judgment. This is a unique opportunity to work across multiple industries and domains, collaborating directly with engineering directors and VPs at leading deeptech companies. You'll manage a team of EE contractors and interns while shaping the foundational taxonomy of electrical engineering skills at scale. What will you be doing?

- Designing scenario-based assessments and simulation questions (PCB design, schematic design, circuit analysis) for clients across space & defense, robotics, and manufacturing

- Managing and overseeing a team of electrical engineering contractors and interns, disseminating tasks and ensuring quality of question and scenario creation

- Having direct conversations with directors of engineering and VPs at leading deeptech companies to learn their workflows and translate that into tailored evaluations

- Leading a foundational research project to build a comprehensive taxonomy that breaks down electrical engineering into all of its constituent skills and coverage areas

- Collaborating closely with the founder and the mechanical engineer to shape Colare's assessment platform and product direction
