Forward Deployed Engineer

We are looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer with 3-8 years of experience to embed directly within industrial portfolio companies and ship agentic AI software that transforms their operations. You'll be the technical AI face of Viessmann Generations Group — a purpose-driven family ecosystem backing market-leading European manufacturers — earning trust with operators and GMs while delivering real systems that move the business forward.

What will you be doing?

- Embed on-site at portfolio companies (district heating, clean rooms/cold rooms) to understand their operating models, configure-to-order processes, and where AI can create measurable impact

- Identify the highest-leverage workflows (e.g., CAD-to-ERP pipelines, quoting, bill of materials processing) and ship AI-native solutions from MVP to production

- Build trust with long-tenured German manufacturing teams (20-30 year veterans) and work alongside them to streamline processes

- Architect and implement end-to-end agentic systems — integrating with legacy ERP, CAD configurators, and on-premises infrastructure

- Codify learnings into reusable playbooks that compound across the entire portfolio of companies

Key Requirements

- Full-stack engineering capability (Python primarily, plus API integrations, SQL, cloud deployment) — must be able to build and ship, not just advise

- Hands-on experience shipping LLM/agentic systems in production with real evals and outcome tracking

- Understanding of industrial/manufacturing business processes (configure-to-order, engineer-to-order, CAD/ERP/BOM interfaces) — at minimum 1-2 relevant use cases

- Executive presence and ability to earn trust with non-technical operators in traditional German Mittelstand companies

- German language proficiency or significant experience working in German business environments
