What you would be doing
- Own Volition's internal AI strategy end-to-end — identifying automation opportunities, building tools, and ensuring everything is done responsibly and compliantly
- Take ownership of existing proprietary internal tools and reimagine them in the context of a firm-wide AI strategy
- Work directly with partners, analysts, and operations teams to translate business needs into working AI-powered products (not just prototypes)
- Lead and manage a third-party engineering team — setting direction, maintaining velocity, and holding the team to AI-native development standards
- Make build-vs-buy decisions on AI tools and platforms, evaluating cost, opportunity, and compliance implications
- Manage integrations across core platforms including CRM and deal flow tools, data pipelines, and workflow systems
- Partner with compliance to establish data classification, access controls, and AI risk frameworks — particularly around MNPI, LP data, and portfolio company information
- Serve as the internal AI subject matter expert — educating and enabling the broader team to leverage new tools effectively

What we're looking for:
We need an AI-native builder with 3-15 years of experience who has shipped production AI tools that real users depend on. You should be comfortable operating at the intersection of technology and business strategy — translating complex technical concepts for senior leadership while getting your hands dirty building and deploying systems. Bonus points if you've worked in financial services, PE/VC, or other regulated environments where compliance and data governance are critical.
What you'll do:
