The full description

**ScribeUp** Account Executive, Financial Institutions; $120K–$150K base ($240K–$300K OTE) + 0.1%–0.25% equity; United States (Remote)

**About Company** ScribeUp is a Series A embedded fintech building AI-powered bill-management infrastructure for financial institutions. Its product lives inside banking apps as a modern "bills tab". Recurring bills (rent, utilities, loans, insurance, subscriptions) are automatically detected and tracked, users get alerts before bills are due, and they can take one-click action natively in their bank's app: cancel, update the payment method, or save money on a bill. When ScribeUp goes live at a financial institution, around 60% of end users immediately find a bill they didn't realize they were paying.

The platform rests on two core technical competencies. The first is intelligence built on full banking context, which over-the-top apps can't match. The second is agentic execution that can act on essentially any biller. ScribeUp has signed 60+ financial institutions in about 18 months, from neobanks and fintechs such as DailyPay and NerdWallet to banks and credit unions across the US. It is pre-integrated with the leading digital-banking providers (Q2, Alkami, Jack Henry/Banno, Lumin, Candescent) and recently raised a $10M Series A to scale Product, Engineering and Go-to-Market.

The team is high-caliber, low-ego and flat, with minimal micromanagement: talented people get outsized responsibility and clear ownership lanes. ScribeUp starts remote, with hybrid (~3 days/week in office) preferred but not required and a New York office planned depending on roles landing there in broader Q1 2027 hiring, and runs regular on-sites and virtual team events.

**About the Role** This AE owns ScribeUp's traditional financial-institution (TradFi) sales motion: credit unions, community banks and regional banks. It is not a greenfield role. ScribeUp is pre-integrated with the major digital-banking providers, so for most of these institutions buying ScribeUp means switching it on inside their existing digital-banking relationship. Opportunities come from co-sell and referrals with those providers, conferences, Growth-driven inbound and direct outbound. A typical sale moves through pricing, technical and compliance review, and executive sign-off, with first-year ACVs typically $80K–$150K. The constraint today is experienced sales capacity, not market interest. The AE takes qualified accounts from first conversation through signature and hands them to Customer Success. Strategic accounts (large fintechs and top-30 banks) are a separate motion and not part of this role.

**Responsibilities** - Run full-cycle sales from qualification through contract close: discovery, demos, pricing, negotiation and commercial close. - Guide deals through technical and compliance review and executive sign-off inside banks and credit unions. - Build relationships across business, product, digital, technology and executive stakeholders at each institution. - Work Growth-sourced, partner/co-sell and self-sourced pipeline, with disciplined CRM hygiene and accurate forecasting. - Work closely with digital-banking partners and Channel Partnerships on warm introductions and co-sell. - Hand off cleanly to Customer Success after signature.

**Required Skills** A. Proven quota-carrying B2B sales experience with strong quota attainment. B. Direct experience selling to credit unions, community banks and/or regional banks, where the end buyer was the financial institution. C. Full-cycle new-logo experience, including closing deals, not just generating pipeline. D. Has managed multi-stakeholder sales processes (including technical/compliance review) with strong discovery and demo skills.

**Bonus Skills** - Digital-banking ecosystem experience; familiarity with digital-banking platforms and how they sell into banks and credit unions. - Existing relationships across credit unions or regional banks. - Embedded-fintech or API product experience. - Early-stage company experience.

**Logistical Info** - Location: US-based, full-time. Starts remote; hybrid (~3 days/week in office) is preferred but not required, with a New York office planned depending on roles landing there in broader Q1 2027 hiring. - Compensation: $120K–$150K base, $240K–$300K OTE + 0.1%–0.25% equity.

**Ideal Background** - 🔴 Please don't outreach on our behalf to Pinwheel (most important), Alkami, Candescent, Banno (part of Jack Henry), Q2, StrategyCorps, or DailyPay (a ScribeUp client, conflict of interest). - FI selling experience is a hard requirement. Of the three GTM roles, this is the strictest. Candidates must have sold directly to banks and credit unions. - Strongest profiles: AEs from banktech vendors, digital-banking platforms, or fintechs whose customers are banks and credit unions. - The biggest trap: a "fintech" or "financial services" label on the product doesn't count. The market they sold into must be financial institutions. - Calibration from the onboarding call: an enterprise AE selling data/software into a financial-services vertical at a large vendor (e.g. an Informatica/Salesforce profile) was a no for this role. A seller at a services/consultancy firm whose clients were banks and insurers was a gray area worth flagging if they owned those FI relationships directly.

**Green Flags** - Has closed deals with credit unions or community/regional banks and can walk through the compliance-review process. - Has worked co-sell or referral motions with core or digital-banking providers. - Keeps deals moving and forecasts reliably; operates independently without a large sales-support organization.

**Red Flags** - 🔴 Please don't outreach on our behalf to Pinwheel (most important), Alkami, Candescent, Banno (part of Jack Henry), Q2, StrategyCorps, or DailyPay (a ScribeUp client, conflict of interest). - Currently works at a credit union (e.g. Navy Federal, PenFed, BECU, Alliant, or any local credit union) — ScribeUp's prospective clients; do not contact. - Currently works at a bank (e.g. Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Capital One, or any regional or community bank) — ScribeUp's prospective clients; do not contact. - Currently works at a consumer-facing fintech (e.g. Chime, SoFi, Cash App, Venmo, or similar apps people use to bank, pay, or save) — ScribeUp's prospective clients; do not contact. If unsure whether a company counts, ask before reaching out. - Fintech AEs selling to SMBs or startups (e.g. Brex, Ramp, Rippling). Not a fit, however strong the company brand. - Enterprise AEs whose "financial services" experience is the product label rather than FI buyers. - Pipeline-generation-only background (SDR/BDR, partnerships) with no full-cycle closing.
